Rotary melting furnace at the Pride Metal Industries plant, MIDC Butibori

About the company

A plant built around the feedstock everyone else avoids.

Pride Metal Industries was founded in 2018 by two partners with five years of aluminium trading behind them. The business they built takes aluminium dross — the hardest material in the industry to recover metal from — and turns it into ingots, circles, utensils and alloys at a single site in MIDC Butibori, Nagpur.

The company

What we actually do.

Trading aluminium teaches you what buyers complain about. Chemistry that moves between loads. Gauge that drifts. A supplier who takes the order and then explains, afterwards, what they could not hold. Shehzad Sheikh and Naresh Mahajan spent five years watching that from the trading side before setting up a plant in 2018 to do it differently.

The plant runs on recovered material. Aluminium dross and process scrap arrive from extruders, die casters, rolling mills and smelters. Dross is difficult feedstock — the metal is bound into an oxide matrix and has to be recovered before it can be melted at all — which is precisely why it is available, and why a business built to handle it has a position that a straightforward remelter does not.

From there the chain runs forward under one roof: melting across a bank of 11+ furnaces, casting to a specified composition, rolling down to gauge on three mills, blanking circles, spinning utensils on 12+ machines, and calcining the leftover residue into alumina powder rather than paying to bury it. Rated capacity is 5,000 MT per annum.

The company is a registered partnership firm and an MSME-recognised small enterprise, promoted from micro classification as it grew. It is not a large group and does not present itself as one. It is a working plant in Central India that ships metal.

Operating framework

P.U.R.E. — four commitments, each with something behind it.

The company has worked to this framework since it started. Written out properly, it is a description of how the plant is run rather than a set of adjectives.

P

Precision

Composition and dimensions are set against the customer's specification before the heat is charged, not corrected afterwards.

U

Unmatched Quality

Aluminium content held between 97.5% and 99.5%, with chemistry checked before casting and dimensions checked after rolling.

R

Reliability

5,000 MT of annual capacity across 11+ furnaces and 3 rolling mills means repeat monthly volumes are scheduled, not squeezed in.

E

Ethics

Feedstock is sourced traceably, residues are processed rather than dumped, and what we cannot certify we do not claim.

Leadership

From the directors.

Both founders are in the business daily. Specification questions get answered by people who can see the furnace.

Our P.U.R.E. methodology — Precision, Unmatched Quality, Reliability and Ethics — governs how every heat is run and every consignment leaves the plant.

We work to the customer's specification, not to a catalogue. Composition, gauge and finish are set by the requirement in front of us.

Why buyers work with us

Three things that are structurally true of this plant.

Recovery, not just remelting

The business is built on dross — including calcining the residue into a saleable alumina powder. That is a processing capability, not a purchasing arrangement.

The whole chain on one site

Melting, casting, rolling, blanking and spinning all happen at Butibori. A cookware manufacturer can buy the blank or the finished piece from the same metal, with one supplier accountable for both.

Composition set before the heat

Target chemistry is agreed against your requirement and the charge is composed to hit it — rather than selling whatever the furnace produced and describing it afterwards.

What we do not claim

A supplier that overstates is a supplier that will disappoint you later, so here is the other side of the ledger. We do not hold aerospace qualifications and do not supply into aerospace. Where a specification, tolerance or certification is outside what we can hold, we say so at enquiry stage rather than after the order.

What comes with the metal

  • Composition confirmed against your specification before casting
  • Dimensional checks after rolling and blanking
  • Test documentation on request, scheduled with the order
  • A named person to call when something needs sorting out
